Sultan A. Alharthi is a PhD student in the Interdisciplinary Doctorate program at New Mexico State University with a concentration in Computer Science and Psychology. He earned his Masters degree in Computer Science from California Lutheran University. His research interests include game studies, mixed reality, wearable technologies, and distributed collaboration.

His dissertation research focuses on collaborative technologies that support planning and sensemaking in disaster. He worked for several years as a lecturer in the Department of Information Technology in the College of Computer Science at Jeddah University, Saudi Arabia.
